Training & Program Integration Support

For Organizations Serving Survivors of Abuse

The Abuse Survivor’s Toolbox Toolkit Series is designed to support survivors during moments of high stress, cognitive overload, and complex decision-making. Many organizations use the Toolkits as complementary resources alongside advocacy, clinical, legal, or case-management services.

In addition to free client access, organizations may request professional support for staff training and program integration to ensure the Toolkits are used effectively, ethically, and in alignment with existing safety and support protocols.

🔹 WHO THIS IS FOR

This support is designed for:

  • Domestic violence and sexual-assault programs

  • Shelters and transitional housing programs

  • Counseling and trauma-recovery centers

  • Legal aid organizations

  • Hospital- or court-adjacent advocacy programs

  • Community-based survivor support initiatives

Organizations at any stage — from pilot use to full program integration — are welcome to inquire.

🔹 WHAT SUPPORT CAN INCLUDE

Staff Orientation & Training

Live, trauma-informed sessions introducing staff or volunteers to:

  • The structure and purpose of each Toolkit

  • When and how to introduce tools to clients

  • Supporting client use without overwhelming or pressuring

  • Integrating tools into safety planning and stabilization conversations

  • Ethical and practical use considerations

Trainings are typically delivered via Zoom and can be adapted to the needs and experience level of your team.

Program Integration Support

For organizations seeking deeper alignment with existing workflows, integration support may include:

  • Mapping where Toolkits fit into your intake, case management, or counseling process

  • Developing use guidelines tailored to your services and population

  • Identifying appropriate handoff points between tools and professional services

  • Supporting consistent use across staff and programs

This support is collaborative and designed to respect each organization’s clinical, legal, and safety protocols.

🔹 WHY THIS SUPPORT EXISTS

Survivors often encounter multiple systems while navigating safety, recovery, and legal processes. The Toolkits are designed to reduce cognitive load and increase clarity — but how and when they are introduced matters.

Professional training and integration support helps ensure that:

  • Tools are offered in ways that support stabilization rather than overwhelm

  • Staff feel confident using the resources appropriately

  • Survivors experience the Toolkits as supportive, not directive

  • Programs maintain ethical, trauma-informed practice standards

🔹 ABOUT THE DEVELOPER

The Toolkit Series was developed by Mariela Haack, an attorney and survivor-advocate with extensive experience translating legal, safety, and recovery concepts into structured decision-support tools. Her work focuses on operational clarity and practical support under conditions of stress and cognitive overload.

Training and integration support reflects both professional practice experience and survivor-centered design principles.
