Toolbox Concept

Capitalizing on Vulnerability

Capitalizing on Vulnerability is the use of another person’s periods of reduced emotional, physical, cognitive, or social capacity as opportunities for increased demands, criticism, blame, conflict, or control.

Rather than receiving greater support during vulnerable periods, the individual experiences increased pressure precisely when their capacity is most limited.
